The next open discussion forum meeting will be held on Thursday May 17, 2012 from 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.  We will be headed to Denny’s after the meet up.

I will be having a monthly meet up at my studio for makeup artists, models and photographers to talk about makeup, photo shoots, different styles of beauty and what is required and needed to achieve in a certain look. This will be a meet up for those in the local photography industry to share their expertise with others.
The meet up will be an open discussion group/forum where ideas can be spoken about on how to create beauty or editorial shots that will make your work stand out.  Make up artists can discuss with a photographer on how to get the photographer to give you the makeup shot you need. Photographers can discuss with each other what type of model(s) you need for the type of shot required. Models and makeup artists can also find out what the photographer expects from their team.

There is no charge for this open forum discussion.  This will be every month.

Please email me for further details if you are interested in attending.

WARNING: Models, photographers and agencies! PLEASE beware this fake magazine and fake person as well…read on.

Hello everyone.

Today I’m going to talk about this fake magazine called ONE MAGAZINE and the editor which he goes by “Steve Eugster and Peter Jenkins”.  His real name is Dennis Burkas (Google him, you’ll see what he’s done in the past).

I was advised by a makeup artists a while back to submit my images to ONE Magazine as they were just starting out.  I couldn’t see their magazine online because it only showed their front page and it also stated “Coming soon”.  So I went ahead and sent the editor an email with a few of my images.  The person (at the time it was Steve Eugster) liked what he saw and then used the images for the September issue.

Little did I know what was going to happen next.  I kept getting emails after emails from female models that he’d contacted and stating that he’s a freak, and that he’s pretending to be Terry Richardson and trying to get young female models naked on Skype.  I’ve also had emails stating that he (Steve Eugster/Peter Jenkins) has been not only harassing these young female models, he’s also been telling them that the models needs to sleep with the editor in order to make it big for his magazine.  Dennis Burkas (I’ll use his real name from now on), attempts to get models to submit images to him within a time frame of 15 to 30 minutes, if they don’t he will go crazy and delete them.  Dennis will also tell them negative things such as “you’ll never make it in the real world.” or “you’re not good enough.” and so on.  Female models have caught onto this maniac and have blocked him on all his username that he uses on Facebook.  I will post the names that I’ve found of him at the end of this.

Last night (Monday October 24th) I got a chat invite from a model that I’ve never spoke to and she was asking me if I had sent her an email asking for images of her.  I said “Nope, I’ve never sent you anything.”  So come to find out, this Dennis Burkas has been impersonating me with a fake email address.  He’s using orlandoperezephotography@yahoo.com.  So if any models or photographers gets an email from a Yahoo account, trust me it’s not me, it’s Dennis Burkas.  So please be aware of what he’s trying to do as he’s obviously trying to ruin my reputation as well.  (He’s failing obviously).

There’s more to this but I’ll stop here now.  I just wanted to let female models to PLEASE be aware of this character and PLEASE be careful what he tells you or what you encounter.  Steve Euster and Peter Jenkins are all fake names he’s using, and who knows what other names he is utilizing.  His real name is Dennis Burkas.  Please be on the lookout.  Also if models or photographers have been having issues with this person, please report it to the FBI.

Here are the names that he’s using along with the websites that are fake.

Real name: Dennis Burkas

Fake names: Steve Eugster/Peter Jenkins (and I’m sure he’s using many other fake names)

Fake magazine: ONE Magazine

Fake website: http://www.i-magpublishing.com/  http://www.i-magpublishing.com/one/read-online/

Fake Facebook names or links: https://www.facebook.com/peterjenkinsonemagazine?sk=wall  https://www.facebook.com/pages/ONE-Magazine-fashion-beauty/151106824984997

I’m sure there’s more, so once I find out I will post them as well.

Here are other names that Dennis Burkas has used on Facebook.

Ian Miller

Merry Richards

Woland OneMagazine (he’s using this one under Peter Jenkins) and is impersonating my friend Thomas Woland and Woland Photography.  Thomas Woland is NOT associated with this at all !

https://www.facebook.com/peterjenkinsonemagazine is the one he’s using again as it was once removed but Facebook either allowed him back or he recreated another account.  Folks, please and I mean PLEASE be careful with this Dennis Burkas and all other names he’s been using.  I’m hoping that the local police department where he’s at will catch him, or even the FBI as they have several complaints about this Dennis Burkas.

Excited for another tearsheet for FaceON Magazine – September 2011

FaceON is a print magazine that is located in London.  I’m uberly excited as they showcased my work on their magazine recently.  When I receive the magazine in the mail I will scan some pages and show you what they’ve used.  It’s fun when one finds out that their work has been added to a high quality magazine.  FaceON focuses on professional makeup.  The pages from their Issue 6 (which I do currently have) are pages to pages high end makeup with so many quality models and photographers work.  Even now I still I pick up the magazine and browse through their pages as it’s so beautifully done.  Checkout the latest tearsheet that the editors were nice enough to send me my page until I receive the actual magazine in the mail.

I also had the pleasure of shooting another beautiful Playboy model; Tiffany Toth.  She got the Miss September 2011 Playboy of the Month.  For some odd reasons I knew she was going to make it in the magazine.  Mostly due to her friendliness along with her beautiful face and wonderful physique.  I’m going to share an image that I shot of her. This photo of her is currently in my gallery wall at the studio’s office.  Looks fantabulously beautiful I must say.

Hello again everyone.  I wanted to share with you in reference as to you never know who you’re going to meet up with, let alone shoot with.  I had the pleasure a while back to shoot with the beautiful Jessica Burciaga.  I’ll share an image that to me is not only beautiful but sexy as hell.  ;)

Jessica has appeared on The Girls Next Door and Go West Young Girl (Both a Playboy cable TV show)

When I shot Jessica, I noticed her stunning personality as well as how friendly she was with the crew.  She was very easy to work with and even easier to photograph as well.  Check her out below.

Model: Jessica Burciaga

Location: Westminster CA – DG Boxing Club (Now located in the city of Long Beach CA)

I had the pleasure of shooting a beautiful and awesome model not too long ago.  She came into the studio with a great positive attitude.  We had fun throughout the day as we captured some awesome images.  Take a look at the great conceptual images.  We spoke about different attitude captures…see for yourself.

Follow up – May 2011 open discussion forum.

The discussion forum was an interesting one (as it usually is).  We had several topics to talk about.  Below I will put them numerically and converse about each one thereafter.

1)  Copyright issues.

2) Insurance – Beach, property, permits.

3) Monitor calibration.

1) For the copyright issues, we spoke about who actually owns the copyright.  Here’s the information that I found online as it explains who really owns the copyright, per copyright laws.

“Who owns the copyright on photographs?

Under law, it is the photographer who will own copyright on any photos he/she has taken, with the following exceptions:
  • If the photographer is an employee of the company the photos are taken for, or is an employee of a company instructed to take the photos, the photographer will be acting on behalf of his/her employer, and the company the photographer works for will own the copyright.
  • If there is an agreement that assigns copyright to another party.
In all other cases, the photographer will retain the copyright, if the photographer has been paid for his work, the payment will be for the photographer’s time and typically an allocated number of prints. The copyright to the photos will remain with the photographer, and therefore any reproduction without permission would be an infringement of copyright.”

During the conversation, one photographer said if someone takes your website image and uses it for their own use, and you do not contest it, they can then claim ownership and sell the image.
2) It was stated by a photographer, that even if you have a permit in Seal Beach, the police officer can still kick you off.  Newport Beach/Corona Del Mar (as long as it’s not by/for the County of Orange) they too can kick you off even if you have a permit as well.  There are different types of permits from different insurance policies that will allow one to use several beaches or parks.  One being through the County of Orange which one would pay $150/year that will allow selected beaches or parks to be utilized.  Just got to make sure that you call 48 hours prior to your shoot.  More info on next month’s discussion.
3) Another photographer spoke about a client previewing his work on their monitor.  Stating how he could not see details or textures, when they previewed it again on another monitor, they realized just how perfect the images were.  The person also realizes that his monitor needed to be adjusted/calibrated.  This tells you that every monitor is different, it may not be the work itself that they’re not able to view, it just may be their monitor not being correctly calibrated.
Next month’s open discussion forum date coming soon.

Hello again everyone.

I wanted to share Kimmy Kamish, a beautiful friend that I’ve had the pleasure of shooting with.    Kimmy was crowned Miss Belize in 2009.  In 2010, I had the pleasure of not only meeting such a talented beautiful person, had a pleasure of shooting Kimmy TWICE (or was it three times?)  ;)   See some of Kimmy’s images below as you can see the true beauty that she is !

Kimmy also posted on her Tumblr account about me.  I didn’t know that she had such beautiful things to say about me, I’d tell ya but I’d rather you read it for yourself.

Model Erika Jordan

Recently I had the pleasure of shooting with a hot and sexy model named Erika Jordan.  She was just an amazing model to shoot with, we had a lot of fun and did some very nice creative images.  I had a fantabulous makeup artist/hairstylist (although she’s more of a makeup artist) named Heather Ivy.  Heather’s personality is just amazing and beautiful.  I’ve worked with Heather numerous of times and she never seems to fail me.

Here is a beautiful image that I created and will be used.  It’s such an amazing beautiful image that I’m going to showcase it in the gallery at my studio.
