The next open discussion forum meeting will be held on Thursday August 18, 2011 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.  We will be headed to Denny’s after the meet up.

Also this is my one year anniversary that I’ve been doing these meet ups.  A warm thank you to everyone that have attended and thanks to those that will attend in the future !  I always have a great bunch of individuals and I’m very grateful for being able to educate you guys with what’s what in the industry.

I will be having a monthly meet up at my studio for makeup artists, models and photographers to talk about makeup, photo shoots, different styles of beauty and what is required and needed to achieve in a certain look. This will be a meet up for those in the local photography industry to share their expertise with others.
The meet up will be an open discussion group/forum where ideas can be spoken about on how to create beauty or editorial shots that will make your work stand out.  Make up artists can discuss with a photographer on how to get the photographer to give you the makeup shot you need. Photographers can discuss with each other what type of model(s) you need for the type of shot required. Models and makeup artists can also find out what the photographer expects from their team.

There is no charge for this open forum discussion.  This will be every month.

Hello again everyone.

I wanted to share Kimmy Kamish, a beautiful friend that I’ve had the pleasure of shooting with.    Kimmy was crowned Miss Belize in 2009.  In 2010, I had the pleasure of not only meeting such a talented beautiful person, had a pleasure of shooting Kimmy TWICE (or was it three times?)    See some of Kimmy’s images below as you can see the true beauty that she is !

An amazing meet up, it happened to be my birthday on March 31, 2011.  I kept it on track as a forum discussion, because I had over 30+ people turn up at the meeting.  As it was my birthday, Dave Feiling aka Lightwriting MM#1154917, brought in a model and left her with me forever (it’s a Barbie Doll to stand on my desk).  Now why would someone buy me a bottle of Grey Pouppon lol hmmm… (thanks Juan).  I also got so many emails, text messages and Facebook front page birthday wishes, I wanted to personally thank you all for the best wishes.

As the meetup has been ongoing for 7 months, I really enjoy the interaction between photographers, models, hairstylists, stylists and makeup artists.  I’m now looking to maybe have up to 30 minute questions and answers from makeup artists, models and stylists.  If you’re interested and are one of the ones listed, please let me know.  It will be 30 minutes or less of people asking questions about your part of the industry.  Contact me on Model Mayhem #245, Facebook or email directly on my website.

The forum have been becoming very popular as new people as well as the usual awesome group have been there since day one supporting this forum.  Wanted to thank EVERYONE for their support.

These meetings will be a chance for models, photographers, makeup artists, hairstylists and wardrobe designers/stylist to bring in their books or images that they have created. Everyone is also welcome to bring in ideas they would like to create from a magazine or the internet as well.

Recently I had the pleasure of shooting with a hot and sexy model named Erika Jordan.  She was just an amazing model to shoot with, we had a lot of fun and did some very nice creative images.  I had a fantabulous makeup artist/hairstylist (although she’s more of a makeup artist) named Heather Ivy.  Heather’s personality is just amazing and beautiful.  I’ve worked with Heather numerous of times and she never seems to fail me.

Here is a beautiful image that I created and will be used.  It’s such an amazing beautiful image that I’m going to showcase it in the gallery at my studio.

It’s so funny how we work.  We look at things as to how we feel about a certain model whether it’s by viewing their packages that’s being sent from different agencies or just by meeting them in person.  Recently an agency sent me a package (packages are different images of different models that you can view, and possibly want to either test with them or get paid to shoot the model(s) that’s sent to you).  From the packages that were sent to me, I selected Taylor Roberts.  I must tell you, she was a doll to work with.  The minute she walked into the studio it was heaven sent.  She was beautiful throughout the day.  Great personality, very talkative and was very good at following my directions as to what I was looking for.

I must also add that I had such a FANTABULOUS team.  Without the team, it’s not a shoot per-se.  Although I’ve shot without a team and was able to pull it off but with the team, it surely makes a huge difference.  So speaking of team, I want to thank them personally.
